Exploring Physical Colour
Bachelor Thesis
2019

The work «Exploring Physical Colour» examines the effect of physical colour on a theoretical and practical level. The attempt is made to develop tools which allow a systematic application of colour in designs process.

Whether design element or information carrier; in order to gain knowledge of the principles of colour, it is worth taking a differentiated look and considering the topic of colour in design to be a basic prerequisite for a successful process.

For this reason, I see my work as a discussion an ongoing design process. It is about the demand and creation of a consciousness to equate colour in its relevance and function with other design parameters such as usability and form. Starting already at the beginning of every design process. The aim of my work is therefore to clarify the necessity of dealing with colour in order to be able to use it purposefully and successfully. It is important to know which mechanisms of action have to be considered when determining a color and a surface.

The theoretical thesis in combination with specific applications and their documentation is meant be a source of inspiration or even a collection of information that aims for interest and fascination when it comes to working with colour in product design.
