For a private studio loft on the ground floor of an old Berlin building, a colour design in reminiscence of the anniversary exhibition at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld is to be created. As with the design for the exhibition, an interplay of different sized colour surfaces is to create a sense of space that counteracts the tube-like floor plan of the 40 square metre apartment.
A small vestibule, which due to its small size cannot really be used, forms the pink prelude to the two main rooms. Two yellow walls on the long sides of the two rooms are to connect them. In the kitchen, this yellow wall is extended around the corner and thus creates a defined space for a sitting area. A green or respectively blue wall at the two front sides form correspodence to the yellow and create different weighted colour compositions depending on the angle of view. A small irregularity in the main room, a chimney protrusion, is given special attention by a pink coating and forms not only a discontinuity in the wall but at the same time in the entire design, as it is the only direct contact between two colour hues.
